FICTIONAL CASE STUDY / Professional Services
A connected business. An uninterrupted transition.
Asteron Group · A phased cloud migration, standardised endpoints and shared service reporting brought the environment together.

01 / THE SITUATION
Ready for a more connected environment.
Asteron Group is a fictional professional services organisation used to explore a realistic technology scenario. As the business evolved, its operating environment needed a more coherent approach.
The challenge
Multiple offices relied on inconsistent devices, local file stores and reactive support.
The project needed to respect daily operations, make ownership clear and avoid adding complexity for the people using the systems.
Understand before changing.
The illustrative assessment mapped people, applications, information flows and existing responsibilities. A shared backlog separated immediate operational concerns from longer-term improvements.
- Document critical workflows and dependencies
- Review access, devices and recovery arrangements
- Agree priorities and measures with the business
Recommended architecture
A phased cloud migration, standardised endpoints and shared service reporting brought the environment together.
A staged implementation.
The example delivery plan begins with a small pilot and clear acceptance criteria. Each stage includes testing, documentation and an agreed handover before the next group is introduced.
Migration with checkpoints.
Information and workloads move in an agreed sequence. Owners verify access and important tasks at each checkpoint, with rollback conditions documented before cutover.
Make the repeatable work easier.
Stable handoffs are documented and connected where appropriate. Exceptions remain visible so a person can review the decision and resolve the issue.
Build security into delivery.
Access roles, device configuration and recovery arrangements are reviewed alongside functional changes. The handover records responsibilities and the process for future reviews.
A clearer operating picture.
These are illustrative portfolio outcomes, not measured client results or guarantees.
“Having a clear sequence and a shared view of the environment made it easier to understand what needed to happen next.”
